How to set up WebDAV in Notebooks

Alfons Schmid, October 14, 2009 13:19

Before you start you need access to a WebDAV enabled service.
Currently (mid October 2009) these services are know to work well with Notebooks:
swissdisk.com, mydisk.se, mediacenter.gmx.net. We are constantly verifying other services as well.

In Notebooks’ Settings, turn on Sync to WebDAV and tap on Change WebDAV Settings

MobileMe users only need to fill in their username without @me.com and password, and can optionally enter a start directory for Notebooks (the default is Documents). If a start directory is given, it must already exist on your iDisk.

All others, please
- choose a Description for your service
- Enter the server address as given by your service provider (please refer to their websites)
- Optionally, give a start directory for Notebooks. The default is the root directory, but if a start directory is given, please make sure it is created on the server before you start to sync.
- Enter your username and password

You will now be able to synchronize all or part of your documents in Notebooks to the server you have specified. In any book, tap in its title in the navigation bar and select “Sync-YourService” from the context menu.

I have not had any success setting up WebDAV as instructed. I am using MobileMe and entered my username and password as prompted. When I went to Import I was asked to select a service but WebDAV was not even a choice. What now?

In order to sync to a WebDAV services, please tap on the title of the current book in the navigation bar, at the top of the screen, and select "Sync - <...>" from the menu that appears.
