Notebooks for iPhone Answers

No connection to Server message

Hi Alfons,

I use the iPhone app and the Ipad app and they have been great to use. Just what I need to help keep things organised and catalogued.

I use an iPad 2 with WiFi Sharing enabled and an iPhone 4 with WebDAV Sync enabled. This has worked fine and I have been able to sync between the two devices without problem, that is until I updated both apps this week as new versions were available.

When I now try to Sync using the iPhone 4, I immediately get a "No connection to Server" message and cannot now sync between the devices. I have tried resetting the WiFi and WebDAV settings to try to resolve the problem but it has not helped.

Please let me know how to resolve this problem as not being able to sync is severely limiting the usage of these great apps. If there is an ongoing problem, can you please let me know of an alternative way to sync and how to use this, until this problem is resolved.

Thank you.

Regards,

Alan

Dear Alan,

the latest update tries to make sure that there is a connection between Notebooks and the WebDAV server before starting a sync. As it turned out, a port number in the server address causes a problem and is the reason for the "no connection" message. Especially when syncing iPhone and iPad directly, there is nothing you can do at the moment, but we will take care of this asap with a minor update.

We're sorry for that inconvenience!

(As a workaround you might use Notebooks' Dropbox sync option...)
