Notebooks for iPhone Answers

I accidentally deleted a notebook (and its contents, which I need!). Is there any way to recover it?

My note was set up in the wrong book, and I was trying to figure out how to get it fixed, and I deleted the notebook.

Hi Della,

I am very sorry to hear this. The only way to recover your documents is from a backup. There are several options:

1) If you have a recent iTunes backup which contains your documents, you could either restore your iPhone/iPad from that backup, or you use a "backup extractor" application that allows you to save the contents of Notebooks from the iTunes backup to a folder on your computer. These are the basic steps:

- Download any of these backup extractors:
http://supercrazyawesome.com/ or
http://www.iphonebackupextractor.com/
http://www.icopybot.com/itunes-backup-manager.htm
- Launch the application and click Read Backups
- Choose the latest backup
- From the presented list, choose "Notebooks" and click "Extract"
- Select a location to store the extracted files; these files are the books and notes you had in Notebooks

2) If you have set up synchronization with Dropbox or a WebDAV server, your documents should still be available there and it should be fairly easy to restore them.

I hope that helps.
Best,
Alfons
