Cannot use "+" to create new book or sketch

Hi,
I can no longer use the "+" sign in the upper right to create a new book, sketch, or paste. All i get now when i touch it is a new blank note. Everything had been working fine, but no longer. Any ideas please?

It seems that you

- either hold the button too long and trigger its touch&hold action, which creates a new note
- or you have activated the option "Tap for new Notes" in Notebooks' settings, which actually reverses the "tap" and "touch&hold" actions

Notebooks uses several of these touch&hold buttons, as described in the handbook of the website's "Hints" section.
