I am looking at using notes for recording all my sales calls and quotes etc. This means up to 2000 notes per year. Does notes have an actual limit to the number of notes created? Also, will the program slow down handling that capacity?

the only limit is the iPad's or iPhone's memory. Notebooks stores the notes in the file system, so there is no database that might grow beyond its limits. Of course, there are certain aspects that slow down: performing a synchronization of Notebooks' whole contents will take longer, but you have the option to sync books selectively, so there is a workaround. Also, searches will take longer etc. But in your everyday work, creating and editing notes, you will not see any slow down.
