Notes from email

nluczyns, May 24, 2011 04:13

To keep track of my follow up on tasks or someone else's activity, I frequently end up copying emails into notes; however, I find it ineffecient because selecting all only highlights the body of the email. Is there any way to create a note that will include the entire email including the header information (other than starting to forward the email and then selecting all)?

Unfortunately, there is no better option available in Mail (the fact that header fields and body are displayed in separate fields makes it impossible to select them all). The only thing Notebooks could do is add kind of an email client and access your email on the server, but I think this might be a bit of an overhead. What remains is sending feedback to Apple and ask them for an "Open in..." option for standard emails, for example. You could do that here: http://www.apple.com/feedback

Hi,

I am looking for exactly the same feature (i.e. importing emails with headers into Notebooks). I could perfectly live with an integrated email-client. GoodReader for instance already has one, so why not Notebooks? The benefit would be huge!

Best regards,

Ralf

I agree about the benefit, but we also need to look at the effort it takes to implement that ;-)
We have put that on our list, so let's see.
