Hi,

I'm sorry to hear you are having troubles. Where exactly is it that you get stuck? Have you already taken a look at the handbook, which contains much more detailed info than the Quickstart and our website? it is available for download at http://www.notebooksapp.com/Download.html?

yes have viewed handbook.
the setup wifi user-is this the same log in as my wireless network, do I need to do on both ipad and iphone?
when it says change webdave settings to the details given on the ipad's sharing info-do you have to change all ,are these the settings on the screen that appears after you move switch to "show system files" as all I see is a choice of 2 url's have tried both in address and file locations, do I need to rename from default, what is the log in and password is this the wireless network or from the above wi-fi user setup?
Do I need a program on computer to make work? I thought it was from one device to the other?

- when you set up WiFi sharing, you can choose any arbitrary username and password you want; you only need to set that up on the device on which you activate "Share this Book". When you select "Share this Book", Notebooks will present you a page with details; the most important are the two URLs.

- on the other device, you need to change the WebDAV settings: enter any of the URLs mentioned above in the SERVER field, and enter the username and password you have selected in the step above in the appropriate fields, too. It does not matter which name you give the settings, but server, username and password are essential.

- you do not need any program on your computer, because in this setup, all communication is between iPad and iPhone

- now, start sharing on the first device, and then select "Sync -..." on the other. That is all.

Thanks for that still no good.
tried both ways and get synchronization failed each time.
connection: error
domain=NSURLErrorDomain
Code=-1001 "the request timed out." Userinfo=0x47cb6b0
{NSErrorFailingURLStringKey=http://-----------------------------------------------
There is more but much the same.
Looks like was a waste of time trying to sync must be a problem at my end.
I do like the app it works well but trying to sync is no good, have followed instructions to the letter time and time again but nothing.

Tried for another half hour it just does not work.
There must be a setting in the phone or pad that needs to be changed.
I have tried so many times and still it fails every time.
