Can't see typing from external keyboard when note exceeds one screen

Photojhh, April 05, 2011 18:35

Notebooks 4.1.2 broke use of an external keyboard for notes exceeding one screen. To reproduce:

1. Open a note that is more than one screen's worth.

2. Scroll to the bottom of the note to add a new line of text.

3. Observe that the line being typed is mostly covered by the status bar. (You can see the top few pixels of the characters being entered.)

This does not happen with the on-screen keyboard.

Workaround #1: Add blank lines at the end of the note, then insert text at the end of the "real" text, then delete the extra blank lines.

Workaround #2: Turn on "Fullscreen hides Status", then switch to Full Screen mode to add text at the end of the note. Since the status bar is now off, it does not hide the text being entered.

Both workarounds have disadvantages of course. Please remedy.

Thanks,
JohnH

Hello John,

thank you for reporting this, we will take care of it asap.

As another temporary workaround you could enable Notebooks' extra keyboard keys; they will cover part of the toolbar, but the text display is correct.

Kind regards,
Alfons

Alfons --

Thanks; your workaround is much better than mine, since now I don't need to switch back and forth into Full Screen mode. :-)

By the way: we have fixed that and an update is on its way to the App Store.

Thanks! I have confirmed that this problem is fixed in v4.1.3. :-)
