Notebooks for iPhone Answers

I am sorry to hear that you lost part of your work, but no, there is no trash can in Notebooks. We point out in multiple places that a delete cannot be undone.

There might be a chance, though: if you have a backup on a WebDAV server or on Dropbox, then it is fairly easy to restore the documents; just make sure not to sync before saving a copy of those documents in an extra place.

Alternatively, you might be able to restore the documents from an iTunes backup. If it is recent you can simply restore from the backup, but you could also use a "backup extractor" to retrieve the document.
