International characters do not display correctly on the computer
When you try to open a Notebooks note with an application on your computer it may happen that international characters are not displayed correctly. There is an easy fix for this.
Notebooks uses Unicode (UTF-8) as text encoding, because it is the most universal and flexible option. However, some applications on the computer do not automatically detect that, which is the reason for the incorrect display.
To fix this, you can either select the correct text encoding in the application's "Open..." dialog, or you change the application's preferences to always open plain text document with Unicode encoding.
A tip for Windows users: NotePad is unable to display Unicode, so we recommend to open Notebooks notes in WordPad or another text editor like Notepad++
