Turn off markdown?

Is there a way to turn off markdown? I like the idea of the feature, but the preview, locked mode looks very bad. I know that I can hit the pencil icon to edit, but it's weird to have to hit the pencil icon just to read the note (b/c of the bad formatting).

You might say just not to use markdown, but I take notes a lot and start each line with a '-' or a bullet symbox (via inserted symbol from a TextExpander shortcut). This automatically makes the document formatted.

Add'l, the location and size of the pencil icon makes it hard to select. Half the time, I end up hitting the plus button and getting a new page. This is a secondary problem though

Thank you for your comments.

1) Just starting a list with "- " or any of the other supported markers does not convert that note to HTML. If you use any of the formatting buttons from the extra keyboard keys, however, Notebooks converts the note.

2) You can "revert" a formatted note to plain text by selecting "Copy as Plain Text" from the action menu. This will give you the original plain text version.

3) Tapping the pencil icon is just one of three options of switching to the editable version of a note. The other options are triple-tapping the text or selecting "Edit" from the action menu (the pencil actually never was meant to become a button ;-)

I hope this helps a bit.
Best,
Alfons

Thanks for the info. I think that turning off markdown/convert to HTML would be a good idea. I like the formatting buttons for notes, but don't care much about markdown. Plus the preview is unreadable.

Does "unreadable" mean black text on black background? If it does, this is because the font color is currently ignored. - We have fixed that, an update will soon be on its way ...

No, sorry, the text is readable, but the formatting is bad. Line wraps, etc.
