Opening files from Drop Box

Tom Reitan, March 09, 2011 15:38

I installed drop box and have a good synch. I cant seem to open files in my laptop, Windows, so i can work on them on my laptop.
It is difficult to not have all files on the laptop to work on, when that can only be accomplished on the iPad.

I have tried evernote, onenote etc by they are not NEARLY as good as notebooks, BUT i can work on them on my laptop.

So....is there a way i can work on "notebooks" on my laptop thru drop box synch? Thats what i thought i would be able to do. Any suggestions?

Hello Tom,

we are currently implementing the desktop version of Notebooks, which will make it much easier to work on your documents from your computer.

However, with Dropbox sync you should already be able to open and edit the documents without problems. A few hints:

- Set Dropbox to sync its contents with your computer, because you can access Dropbox just like a folder
- To open one of Notebooks' documents, you can use WordPad (or you can download and use Notepad++), this should be possible without any problems. - When you make changes and save, the document is synced back to Dropbox' cloud service, and the next time you sync Notebooks, the changes will find their way back into Notebooks.

If that does not help and you are still experiencing issues, please let us know.

Best,
Alfons

When are you planning to implement this desktop version of Notebooks? If you do, I will stick to Notebooks forever!

We are currently working on it ...
