Notebooks for iPhone Answers

Are there plans for an official Mac App Store version of Notebooks?

As a new user of notebooks I have to say I am blown away by the features and depth of this app.
However the only aspect Notebooks lacks is bringing the same experience on the iphone onto my Mac, through the Mac App Store or as downloadable software.
DropBox, WiFi sharing, iTunes and WebDAV sync are ok as a back up of the info, but having to open Word or other programs to edit is a pain. And creating new notes in the way you can on the Notebooks app is impossible, especially creating them with the settings and details available on the app, specifically tasks. It would be extremely helpful if there was a Notebooks program I could have on my Mac or PC that had a similar interface as the app with all of the same features integrated, such as reminding me of tasks, creating and checking them off, as well as making new books and notes with settings that all sync with the iphone app.
Something like Wunderlist or Evernote in terms of synchronizing between iphone and Mac, with the same interface and depth as the mobile app.

I saw a posting here about a similar service, and I was hoping Notebooks would have something like
http://www.markburgess.us/NotebooksCompanion/index.htm
which does exactly what I would want, but a Notebooks official one with task integration and all the features and settings available on the iphone and ipad app.

Any news or word would be awesome. Keep up the amazing app.

Dear Hans,

thank you for your comments. Yes, we do have plans to create a desktop version of Notebooks, and in fact we are already working on it. If all goes as intended, there will be Mac and PC versions of the app. Of course we try to make it resemble the iPad version as much as possible, but we will see what makes sense and what does not.

As soon as there is more that we can tell you will read about it in the News section of our website.

Kind regards,
Alfons

Dear Alfons,

A desktop version would be great.

I request that you enable users to encrypt notes/books on both the iPad and Mac so that files stored on Dropbox are encrypted as well. Using Dropbox for confidential information is a HUGE security hole and you would be the first application to solve that problem.

Thank you for a great product.

Regards.

Hi mon10a,

I agree, with a desktop version, encryption would make sense. What remains is the admin overhead and the export restrictions regarding encryption, but we will see...

Best,
Alfons

Hi Alfons,

We are all excited about a Mac application; if you would like a free and helpful beta tester, I would be happy to volunteer. Are you interested in alpha or beta testers?

Notebooks on the desktop would make my workflow much more efficient, the sooner the better. I'm also available for product testing if needed.

This is great. Looking forward to the Mac version of the app. Happy to be alpha/beta tester too.

I only signed on to add my "me, too!" to the unasked question, "Who else would like to see a Mac desktop 'Notebooks' application?" I'm adding your News RSS feed to my reader so I can check *every day* for the happy announcement of its release! : )

The notebook app for my Mac would be great.

Another vote for mac app version. For tasks, it would be great to have drag and drop capability and other ease of use / minimum clicks features similar to Things desktop version.

I would love to see a Mac OS version. The iPhone version is fantastic - beautiful interface and great functionality.
