Notebooks for iPhone Answers

Protected notes show up in iTunes. Is there a fix on the way?

Even though I password protect my journal in Notebooks, it can be seen and transferred to my computer in iTunes. I bought this app specifically because of the reputation it had for protecting private entries. I would like these notes not to show up. Is there a fix for this on the way?

Hi,

when you export the "Notebooks" folder through iTunes, the whole structure of Notebooks is transferred to your computer. There is no way for Notebooks to restrict which items are accessible for iTunes and which are not, because iTunes simply copies the file structure. (We have pointed that out in the handbook).

However, export is possible only from that computer and iTunes version that is synchronized with your iPhone/iPad, and even if someone connects your iPhone to a different computer, iTunes will not allow to export your notes.

I hope this helps clarify the situation.
Kind regards,
Alfons
