Notebooks for iPhone Answers

Why isn't the app "seeing" my documents in Sync?

This is the second time I've had this problem since upgrading to iOS 4.2.1 in Fall. I had success with completely uninstalling the program (copying it out of iTunes and back) and removing the Notebooks file from my computer an, uninstalling and reinstalling SyncDocs, and having it sync up fresh, but now I am having the problem again.

The syncing process seems to work fine, but it ends with "0 documents sent, 0 documents received." No errors present; it just doesn't see my docs.

When I did the completely fresh re-install it worked again for several days but then stopped working. Does anyone know if this is a known issue? I can't just reinstall it every week.

Hi,

as it seems you are using SyncDocs for synchronizing your documents. When Notebooks does not "see" the documents on your computer, the reason most likely is the network connection between your iPhone/iPad and your computer.
Please take a look at the troubleshooting tips http://syncdocs.sourceforge.net/troubleshooting.php

You might consider using any of Notebooks' other sync options too, of course.

Best,
Alfons

I had the same problem. I was running syncdocs on a Fedora Linux system and found out that I had to copy the files I wanted to sync into the notebooks directory on my computer before dropping them into syncdocs for syncing. I am not sure if that will solve your problem, but I saw no mention of the fact you had to copy the files before syncing in any of the documentation, but I guess it's obvious when you think about it

Yeah, I just gave up since i couldnt find a good answer to my problem at all. I recently got an iPad so I had the chance to look around and found goodreader. Since I already used sugardocs I just sync with that now. It's about a million times better than notebooks.
