Hi I m using the last version 2.02 notebooks for ipad and IOs 4.21. I find out the following when you want to import a pdf file with "open in" notebooks don't appear in the menu. I can see it with xls, doc, ppt, jpg, html files. Thanks for your answer
This usually happens when the iOS has lost track of which apps are able to open which document types. There is nothing that Notebooks (or another app) could do about that, but usually restarting the iPad cures this.
Press and hold the power switch for a couple of seconds and then "slide to turn off". When you then restart the iPad, the iOS rebuilds its info about which app open which documents. After that, Notebooks should reappear in the "Open in..." list.

As an addition, there seems to be a limit to the number of apps that are shown in the "Open in..." list. You can read about it in Apple's support forum: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2679080
