Notebooks shuts down when enter passcode

Hello. I use Notebooks Ver. 4.0.2 with iPhone 3GS (iOS 4.2.1).
Notebooks is one of my favorite application but I have a problem with unlocking protected items. Notebooks shuts down immediately when I enter my passcode.
This occurs everytime after I edit my notes with Japanese keyboard and end Notebooks. Apparently Notebooks accepts my passcode only after I change my keyboard from Japanese to English. So it requires changing my keyboard everytime either before ending Notebooks or before unlocking protected items.
I thought I could manage with this extra procedure at the beginning but now it is getting troublesome.
I would like to know if you have any plan to fix this problem before long.
According to some reviews in Apple Store, this problem started right after iOS4.2 release.

Hello Chieko,

thanks a lot for your feedback. You are right, we have received a few reports describing the same problem with the Japanese keyboard. Looking at the log files that we received we have to come to the conclusion that this problem is in fact related to iOS4.2 (moreover, we have not changed the passcode handling in a while).

We have not yet been able to find out what exactly is causing this, so we do not yet have a solution for it, but I want to assure you that we are looking into this and try to fix it as soon as possible.

Just as a follow-up: is seems that many apps are affected by this problem, and it is becoming more obvious that this is an issue in iOS 4.2 with the Japanese keyboard. We will keep you posted.
