Notebooks for iPhone Answers

pdf documents will not "open in" Notebooks

Mcraddock, December 07, 2010 19:54

On my iPad, when I choose "open in" on other apps (like email, d2g, goodreader, etc), if the document type is pdf, Notebooks does not show as an option. Other file types do list Notebooks though.
Thanks
Mark

Hi, I would recommend to restart the iPad. During startup, iOS collects info about which app can handle which document types, and this should rebuild a complete and correct list that includes Notebooks, too.

Thanks, tried that, still no notebooks listed for pdf's. Any other ideas?

I have the same issue. Tried reboot, delete and install, from iTunes ... Stil does not work. Help!

The iOS limits the number of apps in the "Open in..." list to 10. If you have more than 10 apps that can handle a document, the iOS will simply skip some of them. There is nothing we can do about that, unfortunately, and the only solution is to delete a few other apps and thus make Notebooks appear in the list.

The iOS then obviously keeps track of how often an app is used in "Open in..." and shows the favorite apps at the top of the list.

By the way, this issue is not specific to Notebooks, it affects all apps. Apple's discussion forum has several threads covering this:
