Marklet bookmark does not work, cannot add picture, or sketch

Kwee, November 28, 2010 03:19

I created, copy/pasted, the marklet bookmark but it has to be it's own note? In a note, can you not put a picture into a note with text? And you cannot sketch on a picture, or in a note with text? Each is it's own note and do not work together?

Hi Kwee,

these are several questions, so I'll try to take care of them separately:

1) The Bookmarklet: you do not copy or paste that into Notebooks, you rather need to create a bookmark in Mobile Safari. This bookmark then is a shortcut for importing the document you are currently viewing in Safari into Notebooks.

2) Currently, you cannot put a note or sketch into a text note. - We had this type of functionality available in Notebooks 3.0 about a year ago, but Apple did not want to release that version and asked us to remove all "advanced" features again :-(
As a workaround, you can copy the link to a book or note (in Notebooks) and paste that into another note; this gives you a convenient shortcut.
(We are working on an alternative and hope to bring formatted text back to Notebooks soon!)

Staff,

I agree with Kwee on being able to sketch in a typed note. Many times during classes the prof will draw something on the board and it is a huge hassle to start a new note and the go back and link to it.

You said in your response that apple wouldn't allow it, but I downloaded a much less expensive app that allows just that. I really like all the functions of notebooks, but not being able to sketch in a typed note kind of ruins the whole thing. Please fix this as soon as possible.
