iOS 4.2 and Notebooks 2.0.1 / 4.0.1
Apple just released the new iOS 4.2, which brings a series of interesting improvements.
Unfortunately, iOS 4.2 also contains a few flaws which might surface in Notebooks. We have worked around them and sent updates for both versions of Notebooks to Apple, but at the moment they are still waiting for review. So, if you depend on Notebooks and if you do not have an urgent reason to upgrade, we would recommend to wait for the release of Notebooks 2.0.2 / 4.0.2 before installing iOS 4.2
If you use the current versions of Notebooks on iOS 4.2, this is what you might experience:
- on the iPad, the text of a note will disappear when you bring up the keyboard. Rotating the iPad or hiding the header will correctly display the text again.
- on the iPad, tables will appear on a gray background instead of the pinstripe
- on all devices, swiping from note to note will almost certainly cause a crash for all document types except plain text
None of these issues is destructive, and we have fixed them for the upcoming version.
