Well, this is already there. Just turn on Protection in the info of the book you would like to protect.

if you need to enter the passcode whenever you open Notebooks, then you probably have enabled protection for the top level book.

That would be great, but i don't see the protection option anywhere in the info for a book, only in the top level settings.
Maybe it's not in the iPad version?
Or only available if i set it on in top level settings? (which i don't want)
