Notebooks for iPhone Answers

My notebooks are syncing from iPhone to MobileMe but they're not importing to the iPad version

I'm trying to sync notebooks (and changes I make in them) between the iPhone version of Notebooks and the iPad version. I see there are already a number of questions about this and I've followed directions but now I find that I can sync what I create on the iPhone to MobileMe but then when I try to do sync on the iPad I get "sync reports" telling me that changes were made but they did not import. All the settings on my iPhone version match the iPad version. I set up a directory for Notebooks in iDisk and added that to the Notebook sync settings too. I'm so confused.

Hi Rob,

sorry for the late reply...

The documents that were not imported according to the report, are these exactly those you have edited on the iPhone? If that is the case, did the previous synchronization from your iPad complete successfully, or did it terminate with an error message (not a sync report, an obvious error message)?

Background: if the sync terminates with an error, it is not recorded as a successful sync, even if a set of documents has been exchanged; so the next time you sync, Notebooks takes the date of the previous (the last successful) sync as a reference date, and this might cause the reported conflict.

I know, sync is always a complex topic, and we are trying to keep that away from our users as much as possible...
