Thanks for the answer to my question about saving a name change. I don't know what I did, but it now works.

Two new points:
1. I was never offered the upgrade to 3.2.1 for iPod touch (which might be just as well, considering some recent laments).

2. Yesterday I selected the whole of a document (about 400 words) which I thought to transfer to another program. It all suddenly disappeared! I gave no "cut" command; and the contents were not on the clipboard. Any suggestions for what might have gone wrong?

1) We removed Notebooks for iPhone from the App Store just to make sure that the "black screen" issue does not hit too many users. The new version is currently in review and will appear at the App Store soon.
2) Regarding that text that disappeared: I do not have an explanation for that. Could it be that you accidentally typed a space " " or delete key? Have you tried to Undo when you realized that the text was gone? Was the text gone when you came back to the note later, or did you "see" the text disappear? Have you checked the document's modification date?
