I enabled the drop box sych for notebooks and lost all of the notes which had been organized into notebooks. I do not see them on the ipad or drop box.

I am sorry to hear what happened, but I have no explanation why that happened. The only situation when Notebooks deletes contents is when it has previously synced with DB and during a later sync finds out that books or documents have been deleted from DB; in that case, it deletes the same objects on the iPad, too. - Could that be what happened?
