I find this app extremely unfriendly to the user. I have read all the help tabs and still cannot create a notebook. I want a refund
Well, creating a new book is one of the simplest tasks in Notebooks: just tap the "+" button in the top right corner of the book- or list view and select "New Book". If you tap and hold the button you will immediately create a new note. - This is documented in all of our sources (web, quick start, manual)
To get a refund, you need to contact Apple, because you have a contract with them. Visit your iTunes account and report a problem.
