Hello Charles,
I am sorry to hear that you are having troubles with Notebooks!
In case you have not yet seen, our handbook contains the most comprehensive documentation, it is available from our website at http://www.notebooksapp.com/Download.html
To export documents via iTunes, follow these steps
- turn on iTunes sync in Noteobooks' settings; this will place an "Export to iTunes" option into NB*s context menu (the menu you get when tapping the current book's title in the navigation bar)
- next, select a book or document and "Export to iTunes"
- when you now connect your iPhone to iTunes, you will find those books and documents in the Notebooks filesharing pane, ready to export to your computer
Regarding the Dropbox issues: from here it is hard to tell what actually might be wrong. Have you already tried to terminate NB from the multitasking bar? And have you tried restarting the iPhone? Does that change anything? What kind of note are you trying to open/read?
If you sent us the crash reports (they are automatically created whenever an app crashes) that would help us localize the issue. When you synchronize with iTunes, all the crash logs are transferred to your computer. Here are their locations:
• Mac OS X :~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/
• Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter/
• Windows Vista: C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter/MobileDevice/
The log file names start with Notebooks and have the extension “crash”. They are just plain text files and can be sent by e-mail in original or zipped form, or even copy-pasted into your e-mail program. Please send them at notebooksapp@me.com
Kind regards,
Alfons
