Hello Michael,

well, this is definitely undesired, I am sorry to hear you are having troubles...

I have two suggestions:

1) you could reset the Dropbox sync history in Notebooks' settings. This makes NB forget everything it knows about DB, and the next sync will behave like you had never synced before. This will of course report a sync conflict for all files that are in NB and on DB, but that is ok. The benefit will be that NB builds a new and intact history, and deleting books should work fine then

2) alternatively, you could activate NB's logging mechanism before syncing, which helps us identify what exactly causes this inconsistency. This is the procedure:

- at the top level of Notebooks, create a new note with the title "Notebooks Log"
- restart Notebooks (it is best to terminate it from the multitasking bar) and sync. Notebooks will now collect status information in this log file
- when finished, please send us (notebooks app@me.com) the contents of "Notebooks Log" and delete this note.

I hope that helps.
Best,
Alfons
