SyncDocs on PC and VPN Software
This tip from Bill Langer describes how to establish a connection between your iPhone and SyncDocs in the case that VPN software is used on the PC:
»For access to the corporate network from outside the company, VPN software (Secure Remote by Checkpoint) is used. It is common to have the application start automatically at startup. The application can be stopped from the system tray.
Examining the system services (Computer/manage/Services and Applications/Services) reveals there are two components to the software (Checkpoint VPN-1 Secureremote Service, and Checkpoint VPN-1 secureremote Watchdog). The watchdog continues to run with the application stopped from the system tray.
Stopping both services in the Computer management window and setting them to start manually, then following with a reboot, will allow Syncdocs to work. Problem solved.«
